As a Network Operations Engineer at MORI Associates, you'll be a key player in maintaining and evolving the vital network infrastructure that drives NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Your expertise will help support missions that inspire the world and push the boundaries of science and discovery.

What You'll Do:
As a crucial part of our team, you’ll:

•             Lead the Way in Network Excellence: Configure, Setup, Manage and optimize switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and other critical devices.
•             Master the Tools of the Trade: Utilize advanced networking tools like Spectrum, NCM, Cisco Prime, and EM7 to ensure seamless performance.
•             Tackle Real-World Challenges: Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair network systems while supporting upgrades and new product rollouts.
•             Collaborate and Innovate: Work hand-in-hand with teams like Monitoring, Help Desk, System Administration, and Network Engineering.
•             Stay Ahead of the Curve: Respond to alerts, resolve customer-reported issues, and ensure compliance with configuration management and JPL's security standards.

Key Responsibilities
Network Monitoring and Maintenance
•             Monitor network performance, availability, and security using tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or other monitoring platforms.
•             Perform routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and system updates on Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto devices.
•             Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 2/3 network issues, including routing, switching, and wireless connectivity problems.
Network Design and Implementation
•             Assist in designing and implementing scalable network solutions to meet organizational needs.
•             Configure and deploy routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
•             Manage and enforce NAC policies to maintain secure access to network resources.
Security and Compliance
•             Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, including creating and optimizing security policies and rules.
•             Analyze and troubleshoot connectivity and access issues
•             Perform periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments to safeguard the network.
Collaboration and Support
•             Work closely with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure upgrades and new deployments.
•             Provide Level 2/3 support for escalated issues from the help desk or other IT teams.
•             Collaborate with vendors for hardware/software support and resolution of complex issues.
Documentation and Reporting
•             Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
•             Prepare regular performance and incident reports for management.

Qualifications and Skills
Bachelors degree with 1-5+ years networking experience; or High School diploma with 5-9+ years related networking experience. 

Required:
•             Proven experience with Cisco and Juniper technologies (e.g., Catalyst, Nexus switches; routers).
•             Hands-on experience with Juniper devices (e.g., EX, SRX series).
•             Proficiency in managing and configuring NAC solutions (e.g., Aruba ClearPass).
•             In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama management.
•             Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP, EIGRP).
•             Familiarity with network security concepts and best practices.
•             Experience with monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
•             Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
•             Exceptional verbal and written skills to collaborate with teams and deliver exceptional support.
Preferred:
•             Relevant certifications, such as CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSA/PCNSE.
•             Scripting and automation experience (e.g., Python, Ansible).
•             Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS  or Azure)

The expected salary range for this job is $100-160K total cash compensation, depending on related education, experience and assessment of relevant skills....
